Blackpool Business Leadership Group
The Blackpool Business Leadership Group is a private-sector led organisation that comprises a range of businesses with representation from tourism, manufacturing, construction, retail, finance and other business services.
It meets six times a year and one of its key objectives is to drive up business confidence in Blackpool.
It also acts as a “champion” for the business community, providing lobbying, feedback and consultation on a range of national and local government activities.
For example, the BBLG has recently given a private sector input to Blackpool Council’s Sustainable Community Strategy, spelling out the importance of having a strong economy at the heart of Blackpool’s regeneration (link here to BBLG response)
The members of the BBLG share a common goal: They are passionate about the regeneration of Blackpool and are committed to:
- Improving the communication between public and private sector
- Helping businesses large and small to capitalise on the opportunities that the regeneration of Blackpool will create
- Simplifying business support so that local businesses can find a range of solutions to help them grow and prosper. The development of the BlackpoolUnlimited.com website is a key part of this strategy
