Blackpool businesses make a splash at the BIBAs
Blackpool businesses dominated this year's BIBA awards - winning three of the prestigious trophies on home soil.
Sandcastle Waterpark was star of the show, winning two awards for Leadership Team Of The Year and Excellence Through Customer Service. The Sandcastle was also a finalist in two other categories.
Blackpool Zoo was named Tourism Business Of The Year, with The Hilton Blackpool highly commended. Just like the Sandcastle, the Hilton was nominated in four award categories.
Estelle Livesey of the Beach House in Blackpool was highly commended in the Business Woman Of The Year category.
The BIBAs, which are acknowledged as the "Oscars" of the Lancashire business community, were staged at Pleasure Beach Blackpool in front of an audience of more than 900 people. The event was again co-sponsored by BlackpoolUnlimited.com.
In addition to the Blackpool winners, there were other successes for the Fylde Coast, with HM Prison at Kirkham winning the Performance Through People award, Sunset Park at Hambleton winning Green Business, and David Holmes from BAe Systems named as Business Person Of The Year.
