AMANDA: THE BOLD VENTURER

AMANDA: THE BOLD VENTURER

Amanda Thompson, managing director of Pleasure Beach, Blackpool, has been recognised in a new book that celebrates the spirit of enterprise in the North West.

Just a few days after winning the Commitment To Industry accolade at the Lancashire Excellence in Tourism Skills awards, she is now profiled with 40 other individuals in The Bold Venturers.

The 160-page hardback book puts the focus on a relatively small, yet remarkable group of men and women of all ages, backgrounds and interests, who are an inspiration to others, particularly to younger generations of would-be entrepreneurs.

The book was launched in the Innovation Lounge at Manchester Central Convention Centre during the Business North West Exhibition and introduced by Bryan Gray, chairman of the North West Development Agency.

Speaking about her inclusion, Amanda said: "It is such an honour to be included in this fantastic book, especially considering the illustrious company I am in.

"Entrepreneurial spirit is what Pleasure Beach is founded on and it is amazing to think that over 100 years since the park was founded, I am being recognised for carrying on the work which was started by my family."

The Bold Venturers is priced at £25 and available from http://www.cities500.com/
