Blackpool International appoints new director
Blackpool International has announced the appointment of a new Airport Director.
Paul Rankin, who has over 25 years experience in the aviation industry, most recently as general manager (airside operations and security) at Bristol Airport.
During his time at Bristol, Mr Rankin was instrumental in overseeing investment programmes for upgrading and expanding the airport facilities including runway, terminal and car parking.
Mr Rankin said: "I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead Blackpool International forward into 2010 and beyond.
"Whilst we are all aware of the challenging economic climate, especially for the aviation sector, the airport's efforts will remain focused on development and growth and continuing to provide a great passenger experience for those visiting us from across Lancashire and the Lake District."
He takes up his new post on January 4, 2010.
