Their environmental policy includes the conservation of energy, water and water pollution, sourcing and recycling.
Here are some of their current actions;
- 11% of our energy is provided by renewable fuel
- We have increased the loft insulation to 250mm
- Each bathroom has refillable dispensers for hand soap, shower gel and bath essence – all of which are made locally
- All the cooked breakfast items and locally sourced and seasonal where ever possible
- Our cooking oil is collected and used to make Bio fuel

Number One
Owners of the award-winning Number One South Beach are heavily involved in Blackpool’s ‘green revolution’ and have so far invested £55,000 into new energy saving technologies.
Not a drop of water is wasted in the hotel with sensory and spray taps which reduce flow and an electronic key card which ensures electrical items in each room are not left on. The three floor hotel also boasts zone heating which means that only the rooms being used are heated.
Since these energy saving technologies were added energy efficiency in the hotel has improved by 37%.
The hotel also uses solar roof panels which can heat water up to 60 degrees without any assistance, takes breakfast pre-bookings to save on waste food and always makes sure to recycle their paper and bottle waste.
