CREATIVE INDUSTRIES HUB
Approval has been given to redevelop the former Lefton’s furniture store on Church Street, Blackpool, into a new Creative Industries Hub.
This will feature 14 small “incubator” units over two floors and a ground-floor, multi-use gallery.
This is an exciting project aimed at nurturing local talent and skills, particularly in the creative design and media sector, where there is expected to be substantial growth opportunities in the years ahead.
The hub will also include a hot-desking facility for freelances and college students and will be manned by a specialist team providing information and business development services.
The centre, which should be operational by March 2008, will link into the regional Media Enterprise Centres, which are being developed ahead of the opening of Media City at Salford Quays.
